Join us in celebrating our 25th Anniversary Year!!

May 11, 2015

An Invitation to Join SAMI in Celebrating our 25th Anniversary Year.

A symposium on “what works and what does not” when using futures in decision making.

To be held at the IT Livery Hall, 39a Bartholomew Close, London EC1A 7JN (not, we hope, in the snow) on 17th June 2015 from 16:00 to 19:00.WCIT in snow

Why should you be intrigued?

Many organisations undertake occasional “futures” exercises – from a Board AwayDay to establishing a Business Intelligence function. Few have a track record of systematically using the result of futures work – Foresight – to develop strategy. We have examined a series of case studies spanning the last 25 years in order to bring out “what works and what does not” when using futures in decision making. These have been published on our blog,

So, in this session we will explore:

  • Case studies spanning the last 25 years of using foresight to make decisions
  • Using the strategy cycle to expose danger points
  • Summarising and sharing lessons learnt on what works and what does not

What you can expect.

This is an interactive event for a limited number of people. Briefings from SAMI’s Fellows and Principals will be interspersed with the opportunity to discuss with your peers.

It is a working session of like-minded senior people from different businesses. Our aim is explore, share experience and challenge thinking with people we like and respect.

There will be a publication on our web site arising from the series of case studies and the presentations on the day – participants on June 17th will be given a bound hard copy to take away. Please note that we may take photos and recordings of the event: we will clear beforehand any use of these with those people recorded.
