Richard Walsh Confirmed As Expert Speaker At Upcoming Strategic Society Centre Event

August 19, 2011

Richard Walsh, Director and Fellow at SAMI Consulting, is to participate in an expert debate responding to the Commission on Funding of Care and Support, organised by the Chartered Insurance Institute and Strategic Society Centre.

The Commission on Funding Care and Support, chaired by Andrew Dilnot, has issued its final recommendations for how the funding of long-term care in England should be reformed.

This public debate brings together a group of expert speakers to explore the proposals of the Commission and provide a detailed, impartial evaluation of its recommendations.

The event will explore:

  • What outcomes will the Commission’s recommendations result in for social care users and their families?
  • What does the ‘capped cost’ model mean for local authorities, needs assessments and the delivery of social care?
  • Are the Commission’s proposals likely to result in an active market for financial products?
  • What will be the key issues for policymakers in implementing the Commission’s recommendations?

This event will be of interest to stakeholders across the social care sector, Whitehall, charities and financial services.
